This Drawing Workshop will seek to explore true painterly drawing as it applies to painting. We will work from both photos and models to help understand the value of working from both. Students will be encouraged to use a variety of both papers and techniques to facilitate a greater understanding of the importance of this medium and it’s value in the development of a well rounded painter. There will be daily instructor demonstrations as well as thorough assistance throughout this workshop.

In this workshop we will alternate between painting from photos and live model work. Emphasis will be on gaining a greater understanding of the value and challenges both methods present. Instructor will lay out clear outlines of both procedures and exercises necessary to move towards developing a true painters eye. There will be frequent demonstrations and critiques. Instruction will be tailored to each student’s level and needs.
